- With Cineversity's ArtSmart plugin, you can easily add artwork from virtually any Adobe Illustrator or PDF file to Cinema 4D Release 13 or greater. The artwork is embedded in the powerful ArtSmart object that makes it easy to adjust the Z-offset between each path and each Illustrator layer. Add extrusion by simply dragging a slider and customize the Cap and Fillet options within the Caps tab. Clicking the Create Materials option will generate a Cinema 4D material for each unique fill color used within each layer. All the materials are automatically linked to the related extrusion and ready to be customized. On the Layers tab, you'll find a link slot where you can select or override each material. You can also define a separate material for the Cap or Rounding portion of an extrusion. Also in the Layers tab, you can modify the offset, path spread, and depth for each Illustrator layer. If you have Cinema 4D Broadcast or Studio with MoGraph functionality, you can activate the Use MoGraph option. When this option is enabled, you can easily add MoGraph effectors to each layer or to each path within a layer. Best of all, the ArtSmart object allows you to reload the source artwork at any time, and all your offset, extrusion and material settings will be retained. Simply click Open in AI to load the artwork in Illustrator. Make your changes and save the file. Then click Reload to load the new artwork into Cinema 4D. If at any time you want to eliminate the ArtSmart object and deal with the actual Spline data, simply make the object editable. You'll get a nice, clean hierarchy with extrusions for each path, grouped with their associated Illustrator layer. Cineversity's ArtSmart plugin is an essential tool for any motion designer, enabling a more powerful exchange than ever before between Adobe Illustrator and Cinema 4D.
