In Release 18, the MoGraph Cloner received a number of key enhancements. The new per step option for the grid mode makes it easy to adjust your clone counts while maintaining accurate spacing. Honeycomb grids allow you to tightly pack hexagons and layer bricks. Lastly, scaled polygon allows for some fun scaling effects. In this video I'm going to walk you through all of these new features and maybe a few more. In this file, I've got a simple polygon model that I made in the shape of a hexagon. So let's go ahead and clone it and see if we can get some fun effects with this. So I'm going to grab my MoGraph Cloner object and drag in this hex piece. And I'm going to change my mode from linear to grid array. Now, grid array you are probably quite familiar with. You typically come in here and adjust your sizes until you get pretty good spacing and then you might copy and paste these values between all of them to get an even number and then sometimes you copy and past incorrectly and it's a bit of a pain. If, however, you come in here and grab, say, this dot on the side and start resizing and now hold down the shift key, you'll get a nice cubic resizing of your shapes, a nice, even resizing. And I'm going to adjust my count here down to one on the Z-axis, so now I've got a nice little 2D grid. Now, in the past when you would increase your count, you'd get something like this, just an increase in density, which is sometimes what you want but not always. If you change your mode now from endpoint to per step, we can increase our count and it's going to organically grow using these settings. In addition, I can grab this corner point right here and click and drag to interactively adjust the placement and overall size of my cloner. Pretty cool. I'm just going to hit undo a couple times and I'm going to set my count on X and Y to 20 by 20, which is a fairly large grid of clones, and I'm going to turn on render instances to keep my viewport nice and snappy. Now, having done this, I can also change the form of my clones. Now we typically have access to cubic, sphere and so forth, but we have a new mode in R18, which is object, which allows me to use any polygon object, in this case I'm using a tube here. I can drag it inside of this object field. And now my clones are being filtered by the shape of this tube. And you can even move this around to get different effects. I can even adjust the radius of this tube interactively. Now, I'm going to get rid of this tube, go back to my cloner, and I'm going to change my form back to cubic. And let's see what happens when we find a different way of arranging these. I mean, this is pretty good, but these hexagon shapes are begging to be put into a honeycomb array. So I'm going to grab honeycomb array right here, and you'll see that they fit very neatly together. Now, I did cheat a little bit, but not by much. When I modeled these, I made sure to model them to a very specific size. And that is the size that you get when you add an inside spline to your scene. Just add that in, throw it in your cloner, and you'll see that they fit very neatly. You can resize that down, maybe throw it in an extrude object, and, if I throw in my hex piece as well, turn that visibility back on, we now have something that looks like this. I could even throw, I don't know, a black texture on these pieces. And now we've got this very fun hexagonal arrangement. The same, per step options apply. So I can increase my width, increase my height, and you can come in and adjust the spacing manually if you like. And we also have some options in here for offset. And this is how the hexagon grid is being formed. It starts with this sort of cubic grid and then allows you to arrange it. It's very useful for things like bricks, which you can also get by changing from height to width, adjusting how these are being offset. And you can go into your offset and you even have random variation within that if you want a more organic sort of laid-by-hand kind of arrangement. Let's go ahead and take a look at the scale on polygon option also within the cloner. So here I've got a simple sphere and I've got a cone and I want to clone this onto the surface of my sphere. So I'm going to add a cloner option to my scene, drag my clone into my cloner, and I'm now going to change my mode from linear to object. I'm going to select my sphere right here, and now you'll see that we are cloning onto the surface. Now, in order to get these oriented in the correct direction, I'm going to click on my cone right here and change orientation to +Z, so it's always sticking out of the surface. And if I, I don't know, was to turn on this displacer right here and press play, we'd see that we can get some sort of fun, punk looking stud sticking onto this deforming object. Pretty fun. Now, another cool thing that we can do now is to click on our cloner and turn on this enable scaling option. And what this is going to do is resize our cones based on the size of the polygons that they're being cloned on to or the vertices. So I'm going to change the distribution here from vertex to polygon center so you can see it a little bit more clearly. And as you'll note, the cones are smaller on the small polygons and larger on the large polygons. And you can adjust just how strong that effect is. I'm going to keep it around 100% and turn my displacer back on. And now as we press play, you'll see that these cones are dynamically changing size. And if I just go back to Gouraud Shading mode, we get something like this. Polygon based scaling and honeycomb arrays are just a couple of the many new additions to the MoGraph Cloner object in R18.
폴리곤 기반의 스케일링과 벌집 어레이들은 additions to the MoGraph Cloner object in R18의 새로운 모그라프 클로너 오브젝트에 추가된 여러 가지들 중의 일부일 뿐입니다.
As mesmas opções Per Step funcionam aqui.
